ALFAPARF Sublime Detoxifying Mud Hair Treatment | Empire Hair

I went to my happy place the other day - the hairdressers! I called in to the wonderful people at Empire Hair  for a deep cleansing hair treatment and here's the 411.

I was booked in with the lovely Laura who put the treatment in my hair, told me all the ins and outs of it, and finished me off with a gorgeous blowdry.

* Can I just put it out there that I was a little skeptical of this treatment at first. I didn't think a deep cleanse would even be good for your hair - all the stripping of oils and such. I wasn't too sure how I'd benefit at all from it, especially with curly hair, but I put my faith in the girlos at Empire hair nonetheless and I'm delighted I did. *

The Company

Alfaparf have recently come out with this detoxifying mud mask and it's the first of its kind. The mud mask is part of range of products called Semi Di Lino from Alfaparf (which the salon stocks - HELLO!). It is a deep cleanser for you hair and scalp to remove a buildup of product, oils, or any other impurities and pollutants. The mask itself is so similar in texture and looks to a regular clay /charcoal face mask which is pretty cool if you're easily excited like myself. It is perfect for anyone who over uses products and dyes on their hair or has a sensitive or irritated scalp.

Bonus Points

The treatment is used on people who might have a lot of limescale in their water and need to rid their hair of all the buildup. Often limescale will turn blonde hair a greenish or brassy colour, and fade other colours. The mask purifies the hair and scalp and prepares it for further dyes. If you're not planning on re dying your hair, it'll purify and cleanse any previous buildup of toxins so you can start fresh. It basically gives your hair a new lease of squeaky clean, silky, shiny, life. 

The Treatment

The mask is put on wet hair first, before shampoo and conditioner, and is massaged and left in your hair for 10 or 15 glorious, relaxing minutes. I was'nt feeling so great that day and I almost fell asleep at the basin! The shampoo used in the next step of the treatment is from the Semi Di Lino (yes it's a mouthful) Nutritive Low moisture range which makes your hair feel like silk. The last part of the treatment is the conditioner which is also from the same range. Thankfully, this is amazing for curly hair and helps lock moisture in after the deep cleanse.

The Aftermath

LADS. Ok. First of all, Kudos to Laura because she gave me such a gorgeous, sleek blowdry and I havent had my hair straight in months. I thought my hair had lost all shape and style but hunaayyy she made it look so good. I was genuinely incredibly impressed by her. 

Secondly, my hair felt so good after the treatment. (Well duh - I wouldn't be posting about it if it didn't). It didn't feel too clean and dry like I thought it might. I was so shiny I was shocked. It felt so soft and exactly like you'd expect having a treatment done in a salon. 

I would honestly recommend this treatment to everyone who overdoes it on the products in their hair, or if you have a sensitive scalp, or if you just need to treat yourself and don't know what to do. The purifying mask is worth the hype and I am so thrilled with my hair now.

(Yess I messed it up a bit. Yes I have a few random hairs sticking out. Don't come for me)
